Protecting the environment

In order to protect our environment for future generations, we prefer to focus on long-term environmental sustainability. This means implementing meaningful and measurable initiatives like resource efficiency and environmental management that help protect the natural environment in which we live and work.

Our environmental program is integrated into the broader company strategy and culture, and aligns to the Johnson & Johnson worldwide environmental vision. Locally we endorse our commitment through our environmental health and safety policy. Click here to view our policy.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification

Johnson & Johnson Medical maintains an environmental management system to ensure we undertake a structured and consisted approach to our environmental obligations. At our North Ryde headquarters the system has been certified as meeting ISO 14001:2004 by British Standards International for the scope of provision of sales, warehousing and distribution of medical devices.

The Australian Packaging Covenant (APC)

Johnson & Johnson Medical is a signatory to the Australian packaging Covenant. The Covenant is a voluntary initiative by government and industry to reduce the environmental effects of packaging. It is designed to minimise the environmental impacts arising from the disposal of used packaging, conserve resources through better design and production processes and facilitate the re-use and recycling of used packaging materials.
